Myth: Napoleon Was Short

Reality: The nickname “Le Petit Caporal,” was actually a term of endearment among his troops. Also, inches were measured differently in 19th-century France: An inch was 2.71 cm vs the current is 2.35 cm. He was 5’6” or 5’7”, which was average or a bit over average in those days.

Myth: You can grow by going after a niche.

Reality: Niches don’t have enough customers to keep sales high. Your advertising will still hit people outside the niche. There is ample research that shows that the highest correlation with sales growth is reach.
